How we got to here....
After 10 years of living the urban/rural lifestyle- 2 full-time jobs, 3 kids and 2 dogs, we longed for a simpler, more natural way of living. For a few years we were successful in some backyard farming adventures; raising meat hens, producing our own applesauce and maple syrup. Finding that we preferred our quality products vs conventional store-bought products, we found that the call to be more sustainable was too strong to resist.
In 2018, we sold our home just outside of the second largest town in the province, and moved to the opposite end of the province to begin our dream.
Royal Acres Estate is a vast acreage that has been neglected in it's past. It's potential is limitless as it has both mountainous areas, valleys, streams, many varieties of trees and wildlife. We have also discovered a hidden apple orchard, which due to the look and condition of most of the trees, leads us to believe that it may be a heritage orchard, with some of the trees being among the first ever planted in North America.

Looking forward to the future!
Our goal is to restore the land and bring out it's former beauty and historic charm. We will accomplish this using as natural methods as possible, such as with our Scottish Highland Beef. With their excellent foraging skills, they can clear out the forest undergrowth, and then leaving their own fertilizer, the forest floor is left to grow grassy and clear.
