Scottish Highland Cattle

Scottish Highland cattle are easily identifiable by their thick, shaggy, coats and long, impressive horns.  Originating in the West of Scotland, these cows were bred to thrive in the wild, harsh climate of their mountainous areas.  Their homeland habitat is inhabitable for most life due to the strong winds, heavy rainfall and meager grazing options.  Despite these conditions, the Highlands have adapted very well and continue to thrive.  Designed to live outside year round, they have a unique ability to convert poor grazing and fodder efficiently ensuring their continued nutrition.

To add a cherry on top, the beef from Highlands is lean, tender, lower in cholesterol and fat than that other varieties of beed, higher in iron and protien.

Royal Acres Estate, located in breathtaking Port Royal, Nova Scotia provides a lush, mountainous terrain, perfect to provide our highlands with diverse, delicious fodder, finished off with sparkling, crystal clear mountain spring water.

At Royal Acres Estate, we aim to bring you the best beef you have ever eaten, so much so, your tantalized taste buds taunt you at the thought of any other kind of beef.
